Owners Lowell and Kim Brownare answering the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot.
What is the primary purpose of your business?
Our primary purpose is to provide quality music lessons to students of all ages.
What is your business background?
We’ve both studied music on the college level and have taught on the private level for 30 years.
Why did you start this particular business?
God has richly blessed us with the musical ability to teach and we love to share this with others. Our desire is to see students grow in their musical abilities. Over the years, we have seen students carry their talents into their local churches, schools and even to the point of making music a career.
What makes your business unique?
Rome has some wonderful piano teachers. However, our school is different in that it offers not only piano instruction, but also voice, guitar and all band instruments.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession?
Teaching, knowing and loving all our students and their families.
What has been the biggest or most interesting challenge to overcome as a small business owner?
As our music school began to grow, scheduling for 70-plus students became more challenging and the need to find more instructors became evident. We’ve met that challenge by welcoming four additional qualified teachers, especially in the areas of piano and guitar.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Fall enrollment is open now. New students are welcome, from beginner through advanced. Please visit our web site www.soundchoiceschoolofmusic.com for more information.
